What to post to get more clients

Now that you know where new clients actually look for stylists — let’s talk about what you should post on each platform.

You don’t need a strategy. You don’t need to hire your cousin or your kid.

What you need is a way to show your work while you’re already working. Let’s make this easy.

Start With What You’re Already Doing

You’re already:

  • Mixing custom formulas
  • Sectioning for dimension
  • Creating beautiful transformations

All you have to do is capture it. Here’s how:

Film while you work:

  • A 10-second clip of you mixing
  • A slow pan of your clean station
  • A before + after photo
  • A quiet voiceover explaining what you’re doing
  • A text overlay with pricing or how long it took

That one clip = your content for the week.

No extra shoot, no second job.

What to Post, Platform by Platform

Google Business:

1–2 quick updates a week.

  • “2 spots open Thursday for glosses + blowouts”
  • “Just finished this copper blend — took 3 hours and she’s glowing”

Instagram:

1 strong post a week.

Showcase:

  • Beautiful results
  • Process (mixing, foiling, sectioning)
  • Vibe (calm setup, clean tools, smiling clients)

Caption:

“She wanted low-maintenance caramel for summer. Took 3.5 hours. We’re both obsessed. Booking color 2 weeks out.”

TikTok:

Same video as IG, but with explanation.

  • “Why I used 20-vol here”
  • “How I balance warmth with shine”
  • “POV: Your stylist explains everything while mixing your formula”

One Platform Feeds the Next
Think of your posts as tools, not chores:

  • Google: Bring in new clients
  • Instagram: Help them trust you
  • TikTok: Let them see how you work

All from one piece of content.

Make Posting Sustainable

  • Post once a week
  • Use what you’re already doing
  • Don’t aim for perfect
  • Just be clear, real, and proud of your work

You don’t need to go viral.

You just need to help the right people find you — and feel confident saying, “She gets my hair.”
